How do we at MIT Powder Coatings Online Store set ourselves apart from our competitors? How do we offer quality powder at such low prices – not to mention the weekly deals! The staff here at MIT knows what it's like to be a business owner and we do our very best to offer you high-quality products at the lowest prices we possibly can by eliminating cost that you don't require like customer service.
You see - “Standard” customer service isn’t figured into our pricing, that’s how we continue to offer such great prices and sales. That doesn’t mean we aren’t friendly, or that we don’t take care of our customers! Ask anyone that has called our Online Ordering Hotline, or the technical support line. We are down-to-earth and very personable – but we aren’t paid to hang out by the phones answering customer service calls (which saves you the business owner money).
I recently had an encounter with a current customer of ours who was upset that we charge a small handling fee for on-site pickup orders. I did my best to explain to this customer that this small fee ($9.99) is an example of how we maintain such low prices, and that even with the fee added to their order, the powder price was still coming out lower than ordering from one of our competitors. The fee isn't added to the order as a penalty but rather a guarantee that when they place their order online we will pull the order and box it so it is ready within 1 hour of the order being placed. They can simply pull up to the dock, load up and drive away. This fee is without the hassle of a salesman trying to sell them things they don't need. For local businesses, in store pickup also offers the convenience of not waiting for UPS to arrive in a few days.
This is how we keep our prices so low. To those that don't need "customer service" you save on every box of powder your purchase. You may not see the “handling charge” added on to your bill from the other company and that’s because it is already written into the price of their powder, you just don't know it! Which means you’re paying for it every time you order whether you need the assistance or not.

Our phone line is available Monday through Friday 8am-5pm EST and we would be happy to take your order over the phone for a small fee ($9.99).
